Apex’s annual spring tradition, the company Hanami (Cherry blossom viewing) event, was held on April 3 at Yoyogi Park!
After several days of continuous rain, the skies finally cleared on the day of the event. With another spring storm forecast to arrive the following day, it turned out to be the last perfect opportunity to enjoy the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Under the beautifully clear blue sky, conversations naturally sparked about who the lucky “sunshine bringers” might be this year.
Since its founding, Apex has continued to grow every year—and this year’s Hanami welcomed a record-breaking turnout of around 200 participants! In addition to new employees who had just joined on April 1 and our interns, many employees brought along their families and even their adorable pets. Surrounded by the gentle warmth of early spring, the event was filled with a lively and cheerful atmosphere throughout the day.
Hosting an event for around 200 people requires careful preparation. On the morning of the event, several volunteer employees arrived early in the morning to secure one of the best spots in the park. Around lunchtime, a wide variety of food—including pizza, sushi, tacos, takoyaki, yakisoba, taiyaki, and drinks—began arriving one after another. Employees worked together as a team to receive everything and bring it to the gathering area.
As more people arrived, small groups naturally formed around the large blue picnic sheets, with everyone enjoying the afternoon at their own pace. True to Apex’s relaxed and open culture, the space quickly filled with warm conversations, shared meals, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
