At Apex, we show appreciation for everyday achievements and value both wellbeing and genuine connection. It all comes back to our philosophy: “Work hard, play hard.”
All Apex events are voluntary. We don’t force unity. By respecting individual choice, motivation and trust grow naturally.
The most highly anticipated event is the annual company trip. Each year we close the office on a Friday and depart together from Haneda. Flights, ground transport, and accommodations are covered by the company, with meal subsidies so everyone can join with peace of mind.
Three Days in Miyakojima

This year, 111 of us spent two nights and three days in Miyakojima, staying at the Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort. Last year we were on the island’s east side; this time we chose the west for a fresh view.
While Tokyo was in the midst of a heat wave, locals told us Miyakojima rarely tops 35°C, which is ideal for a gentle, pleasant summer. Framed by blue sky and sea, it was the perfect setting to relax.
Day 1: Okinawan Flavors and Time Together
On arrival, everyone gathered in the hotel’s banquet room for Okinawan cuisine and drinks. Conversations flowed naturally, even among colleagues who don’t often cross paths, and the room filled with smiles.

“The Miyakojima trip was such an amazing way to unwind and spend time with my colleagues outside of the office. Sharing laughs and experiences together made the workplace feel more welcoming.”
— Anthea Ong (Medical Device Team)
From Day 2: Free Time to Explore

The following day was completely free. Everyone enjoyed Miyakojima in their own way—some welcomed the calm morning with yoga on the beach, guided by an Apex teammate who studied the practice in India. Some teammates swam with sea turtles and colorful fish while snorkeling; others rented cars to circle the island and take in the views. Time with colleagues of diverse backgrounds, hobbies, and talents made the trip even richer, and connections naturally formed across departments and teams.

“The trip to Miyakojima was a great opportunity to connect with colleagues I hadn’t spoken with before through shared activities like marine sports. It’s only been three months since I joined the company, so there were still many people I hadn’t met yet, but everyone was super friendly and easy to talk to. We ended up staying up late chatting, which made working at Apex feel even more enjoyable and comfortable!”
— Koji Kato(Pharmaceuticals Team)
Growing Stronger Together

Time with colleagues outside the everyday helps you see new sides of one another. Casual conversations over meals and on the move spark natural connection. As relationships deepen beyond day-to-day tasks, our community becomes warmer and richer.
Our three days in Miyakojima embodied Apex’s culture of “Work hard, play hard.” Free time let everyone recharge in their own way, while shared experiences strengthened our ties. The trust and memories we built will power the work ahead.
We’re already excited to see where next year takes us—and the moments we’ll create together there.
